Spiders

I saw the neatest thing out in the cornfield the other day. There was this spider (one of the smaller ones, only a few millimeters big) that had built a good sized web on one of the corn plants. He was chilling out in the middle, among a couple of meals that he had caught and spun. There was another spider of a different color, but same size, walking along the edges of the web. Whenever it tried to go in more, the spider in the middle would turn towards it, and shake the entire web at it. The invading spider would then move back to the outer edges of the web. Another invader spider of the same type as the other tried to move in as well, but with the same response from the owner spider. I had never seen anything like it. I sat there for five minutes just watching it play out. So cool.
