For Once, A Freaking Awesome Monday

Inducted into Phi Alpha Theta (Historical Honors Society)

A f*cking A on a Sprey paper! (Holy Mierda!)

(A few more exclamation points for that last one.) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I did well on my Law & Society test tonight. At least better than the last test.

And, as long as I'm allowed to intern at St. Joe, sounds like I have an internship ready to go in the fall with the history profs. Booyah!

Also, I finally have some time to do Latin for the first time in about a month. :D

Random Thought

I wonder, how many people died in World War I as a result of the involved nations' leaders waiting until 11/11 to sign the treaty?

Oh, and happy Darwin Day, everyone.

TMJ

For those of you who don't know, I have a temporomandibular joint disorder. Something is up with my left jaw joint, and it hurts like hell. It hurts to open or clench my mouth. I have problems chewing food. I can't play my clarinet. I'm going through quite an ordeal because of it.
My clarinet is the only "cause" I can think of. And I hate to think that's what it is. I've worked so hard to be proud of my clarinet playing and to work my way up in the section, and I can't even audition now. I probably would've gotten 1st clarinet music for concert band this year, too. So I probably won't get to be in the wind ensemble because of it, and I might be playing a practically foreign instrument that doesn't hurt my jaw. It's going to be so frustrating because I won't sound too great on an instrument I haven't touched since 6th grade and knowing how much better I sounded on clarinet. I'm also worried about losing the $2,000 scholarship I get from band, but there's no reason to be. Robb won't kick me out. He's too nice of a guy.
A much bigger blow to me about this was something I didn't even think of until my boyfriend brought it up. I probably won't even be able to kiss him without being in pain. I guess it wasn't enough torture to only get to see him a few weeks a year.
Life sure can suck.

Conspiracy Theories

I am sick of conspiracy theories and theorists. I don't care who's side they're on. They need to grow up and learn how to rationalize.

Catholicism is Satan worship
Islam is Satan worship
9/11 was an inside job
Pearl Harbor was an inside job
Titanic was sunk on purpose
Oklahoma City bombings were an inside job
7/7 was an inside job
Paul McCartney is really dead
Elvis is alive

People make me sad today.

You know Frank Sinatra? He's dead.

George Bush Doesn't Care About Black People

I seriously think I'm the only person in my Race and Ethnic Relations course who does not believe that. That line was said by one of the students in my class while talking about Katrina, and everybody nodded their heads. When I attested to it, saying "Don't mistake incompetence for malice," a huge argument ensued. Here I was saying that mobilizing the resources needed for the Katrina disaster isn't as easy as it sounds, and the professor attacks me saying he doesn't believe that argument for one second. Well I'm sorry I actually have experienced how hard it can be to get an extrication crew to an accident where a vehicle has landed on top of a passenger in a county of 10,000, Mr. Professor. You obviously have a better idea of what can be done on a much more massive scale with much more room for people to screw up, along with the scale making it easier to shift the responsibility of saving someone's life on another person's shoulder. You should run the country, sir. You should try to run every single branch of government like you seem to think the president does on a daily basis.

What the hell has happened to us? What is wrong with the people in our country? When has become acceptable to put the entire blame of a huge disaster and the response to it on 1-10 people? Where were these individuals that blame Bush for the horrible response time when the victims of Katrina were starving to death?; watching the news in their heated homes while eating dinner? I am ashamed that the candidates that support the issues I do make part of their reasoning that they should be president, "well, I'm not Bush," or, "I'm not part of that stupid Republican Party." That is the worst reason in the world to vote for someone, "he's the lesser of two evils." If you don't like either candidate, don't vote for them. The reason the voter turnout is so crappy isn't that nobody cares about politics; just ask people what they think of abortion, the war in Iraq, or same-sex marriage. The candidates flat-out suck. There's practically no differentiation between them, but the "I'm not candidate A" reasoning gets people f*cking elected these days. It sickens me that I am living in a nation where that reasoning is perfectly acceptable. The same people that point and accuse conservatives of being less intelligent vote for liberal candidates that simply label themselves liberal. The same people that accuse others of not thinking rarely do so themselves. Just one more reason I want to be a hermit.

Don't talk to me.
